Slow Start
All over Seattle, many construction sites have slowed or stopped work due to the strike of The International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), which affects Washington State crane and heavy equipment operators. Center Steps will be on hold from breaking ground until the strike is resolved.
In the meantime, there is still some activity to be expected on the site. Seattle City Light will be moving some of the power lines. Also, tree protection is planned to be installed after the upcoming Bumbershoot weekend.
