Snow, Ice & Concrete Don’t Mix
Since last week when temperatures dropped and snow arrived in Seattle, the construction crew has run into some obstacles; the site has been covered in snow and ice, causing progress to slow and making it impossible to shoot and/or pour the concrete that’s needed for the interior P2 garage level walls and the P1 garage level floor. Concrete plants closed last week and cancelled all site deliveries since they weren’t able to guarantee the minimum 60-degree mix temperature that’s required for concrete. Still, the construction team has been able to further progress by focusing on the installation of the steel reinforcement and post-tension cabling that will provide structural support for the concrete. When temperatures rise in the coming days, the site will be fully prepped and ready for concrete! We hope to begin garage interior walls this Friday with the first concrete pour for the P1 floor tentatively scheduled for early next week.
Stay safe and keep warm!
